Data Sources & Methodology

Last Updated: August 20, 2026

At CarAnalytic USA LTD, we provide digitally generated vehicle intelligence reports designed to help customers research the available history and characteristics of used vehicles.

Our reports are generated through an automated data-processing platform that uses a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to identify a vehicle and organize available vehicle information into a structured digital report.

This page explains how our reports are produced, the types of information that may be included, and the limitations customers should understand when using our service.

1. How CarAnalytic Works

CarAnalytic uses a technology-based workflow to generate vehicle intelligence reports.

The general process is:

VIN Submission → Data Matching → Record Processing → Information Organization → Report Generation → Digital Delivery

After a customer submits a VIN, our platform processes the VIN and attempts to identify the corresponding vehicle and available records from the data sources accessible to our system.

The available information is then processed and organized into a structured digital report.

The completed report is delivered electronically to the customer.

No physical inspection of the vehicle is performed by CarAnalytic as part of the report-generation process.

2. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

The VIN is the primary identifier used by our platform to locate and associate vehicle information.

A standard VIN is a unique 17-character identifier assigned to a vehicle.

Customers are responsible for entering the correct VIN during checkout.

Our system uses the submitted VIN to search for and match available vehicle information. If an incorrect VIN is submitted, the resulting report may relate to a different vehicle.

Customers should carefully verify the VIN before completing an order.

3. Types of Data We May Process

Depending on the vehicle and the availability of records, our reports may contain different categories of vehicle information.

These may include:

Vehicle Specifications

Where available, reports may contain information such as:

  • Make

  • Model

  • Model year

  • Body style

  • Engine information

  • Fuel type

  • Transmission information

  • Drive configuration

  • Manufacturing information

  • Other identifying vehicle specifications

Title and Registration Information

Where available, reports may contain information relating to:

  • Title records

  • Title brands

  • Registration history

  • Jurisdiction-associated records

  • Salvage or rebuilt indicators

Odometer Information

Where available, reports may contain recorded mileage or odometer information associated with historical records.

Mileage information may originate from different records and may therefore contain gaps or variations.

Accident and Damage Information

Where available, our reports may identify reported:

  • Accidents

  • Collision events

  • Damage records

  • Structural damage indicators

  • Total-loss events

  • Other reported damage-related information

The presence or absence of an accident or damage record should not be interpreted as a definitive statement about the physical condition of a vehicle.

Theft Information

Where available, reports may contain records or indicators relating to reported vehicle theft.

Auction and Sale Records

Where available, reports may contain information associated with historical vehicle auction or sale records.

Such information may include records relating to auction listings, recorded condition information, sale events, or other available historical entries.

Recall Information

Where available, reports may contain information relating to vehicle recalls or other manufacturer-related safety information.

Customers should verify current recall status with the appropriate manufacturer or authorized source before relying on recall information.

4. Data Sources

CarAnalytic may obtain or process vehicle information through authorized third-party automotive data sources, data providers, databases, APIs, and other information services used in connection with our reporting platform.

The specific sources and types of records available can vary depending on:

  • Vehicle

  • Country or jurisdiction

  • State or regional reporting practices

  • Type of historical event

  • Availability of electronic records

  • Reporting requirements

  • Data-provider coverage

  • Age of the vehicle

  • Availability of historical records

We do not represent that every vehicle will have records available in every category.

Where our services rely on third-party information, CarAnalytic processes and presents the information available to our platform rather than independently creating or physically verifying every underlying historical record.

5. Data Processing Methodology

CarAnalytic uses automated technology to process available vehicle information.

Our general methodology consists of the following stages:

Step 1 — VIN Validation

The submitted VIN is processed to identify the vehicle and establish the primary search parameter for the requested report.

Step 2 — Vehicle Matching

The VIN is used to identify matching vehicle records available through the data sources accessible to our platform.

Step 3 — Record Retrieval

Available records associated with the vehicle may be retrieved from applicable data sources.

The records available for one vehicle may differ substantially from those available for another vehicle.

Step 4 — Data Processing

Retrieved information is processed and organized by our platform.

This may involve:

  • Structuring records

  • Categorizing information

  • Associating records with the vehicle

  • Organizing chronological information

  • Standardizing certain fields

  • Identifying relevant indicators

  • Preparing information for presentation

Step 5 — Report Generation

The processed information is assembled into a structured digital vehicle intelligence report.

Step 6 — Digital Delivery

The completed report is delivered electronically using the delivery method specified during checkout, generally to the customer’s provided email address.

6. Automated Processing

CarAnalytic relies on software and automated processes to retrieve, organize, and present available vehicle information.

Automated processing allows us to provide digital reports efficiently and consistently.

However, automated processing does not eliminate limitations that may exist in the underlying records.

Information supplied by third-party sources may contain omissions, inconsistencies, outdated information, or other limitations.

7. Data Completeness

Vehicle records are not necessarily comprehensive.

Some historical events may never have been reported, recorded, digitized, transmitted, or made available to the data sources used by our platform.

Consequently:

The absence of a record does not necessarily mean that the underlying event did not occur.

For example, if a report does not contain an accident record, this should not be interpreted as proof that the vehicle has never been involved in an accident.

Similarly, the absence of an odometer discrepancy, theft record, damage record, title event, or auction record does not establish that such an event never occurred.

8. Differences Between Vehicles

The amount and type of information available can vary considerably between vehicles.

Two vehicles of the same make, model, and year may produce reports containing different amounts of information.

This can occur because of differences in:

  • Jurisdiction

  • Reporting history

  • Vehicle ownership history

  • Data availability

  • Record-keeping practices

  • Data-provider coverage

  • Historical reporting

  • Availability of electronic records

For this reason, CarAnalytic does not guarantee a fixed number of records or a specific amount of information for every VIN.

9. Historical Data

Vehicle-history information is dependent on historical records that have been made available to the sources used by our platform.

Historical records may have been created by different organizations at different points in time and may use different formats, terminology, or reporting standards.

CarAnalytic may organize such information into a standardized presentation to make it easier for customers to review.

Organizing information does not mean that CarAnalytic independently verified the underlying event.

10. Data Accuracy

CarAnalytic makes reasonable efforts to process and present available information accurately.

However, we cannot independently guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of every third-party record.

Information may contain:

  • Missing records

  • Delayed records

  • Duplicate records

  • Inconsistent information

  • Reporting errors

  • Historical gaps

  • Incorrect information originating from an underlying source

Where appropriate, customers should verify material information with the relevant official, manufacturer, governmental, or other authoritative source.

11. What CarAnalytic Does Not Do

CarAnalytic is a digital vehicle-information service.

Our service does not include:

  • Physical vehicle inspections

  • Mechanical inspections

  • Vehicle testing

  • Professional appraisals

  • Vehicle repairs

  • Vehicle sales

  • Vehicle financing

  • Vehicle insurance

  • Legal title opinions

  • Guaranteed vehicle valuations

Our reports should therefore be considered one component of a customer’s overall vehicle research and due-diligence process.

12. Independent Verification

Customers should independently verify important vehicle information before making a purchase or other significant decision.

For a used vehicle, appropriate due diligence may include:

  • Reviewing the vehicle in person

  • Obtaining an independent mechanical inspection

  • Confirming the VIN on the physical vehicle

  • Reviewing available title documentation

  • Confirming current registration information where appropriate

  • Checking current manufacturer recall information

  • Reviewing service and maintenance records

  • Consulting qualified automotive professionals where appropriate

CarAnalytic reports are intended to assist with research and should not replace these additional checks.

13. No Guarantee of Vehicle Condition

A CarAnalytic report does not establish the current physical condition of a vehicle.

Historical records may provide useful information about reported events, but they cannot substitute for a physical examination.

A vehicle with a limited historical record may still have undisclosed issues, just as a vehicle with extensive historical records may still be in good physical condition.

Customers should not rely solely on a CarAnalytic report when deciding whether to purchase a vehicle.

14. Data Source Changes

The data sources available to CarAnalytic may change over time.

We may add, remove, replace, or modify data sources, APIs, databases, technical providers, or processing methods where reasonably necessary to operate or improve our services.

Such changes may affect the availability or presentation of certain categories of information.

15. Privacy and Data Handling

VINs and information associated with a customer’s order are processed for the purposes of providing the requested service, operating our platform, maintaining transaction records, providing customer support, preventing fraud, and complying with applicable legal obligations.

For additional information about how personal information is collected, used, stored, and shared, please review our Privacy Policy.

16. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through our platform.

These measures may include access controls, secure infrastructure, authentication mechanisms, monitoring, and other security practices appropriate to the nature of the information being processed.

However, no electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

17. Updates to Our Methodology

As technology, data availability, reporting practices, and our services evolve, CarAnalytic may update the methodology used to process and present vehicle information.

Any material changes to the services or the way customer information is handled will be addressed through the applicable website policies and notices.

Important Notice

CarAnalytic provides digitally generated vehicle intelligence reports based on information available to our platform.

The amount of information available varies by vehicle and jurisdiction.
